Christopher Hayes

As an urban artist Christopher Hayes creative process stems from notions of voyeurism as the observational method of contemporary life. His materials include found objects such a wood, paper and metal, positioning the city as more than just the ideal background for social commentary but also artistic process. Hayes’ work affectively maps our collective conscience to the urban landscape, juxtaposing street life with nostalgic imagery. His art has been described as the pop art of urban revival.

Hayes’ work belongs in many private and public collections including Toronto City Halls permanent collection and Liberty Village’s public art project.
